Confirmation Statement of GD

What Jesus means to me

Jesus to me is the son of God and the savior of all of us. He watches over everyone and protects us. Jesus helps me, as well as everyone else; keep on going when things are not going our way. He is always there when I need to talk to him and he always listens. Jesus is the most caring thing that has ever been on the earth; I think he would have to be to forgive us for all of our many sins. He doesn’t just love one group of people; he loves everyone which I think is an amazing thing. Jesus is what gives people hope whenever they need it and he is what makes people feel happy. He has a personal relationship with everyone which I think is another extraordinary thing. Jesus will always care for, forgive, and love me even though sometimes I won’t even realize it. To me Jesus is the example of a perfect person and everyone should strive to behave like, pray like, and care like him. He performs miracles for people every day even though some people don’t realize it or don’t believe it and he will help them anyways. Jesus helps me want to help others through his good will.

How I have grown in faith and understanding of God’s grace

Over the past few years I have learned a lot about God’s grace. I have learned about his grace from attending church, conformation classes, work camp, and through my own friends and family. I have learned that God’s grace can come in many different ways, shapes, and forms. It can come in a friend helping me out, or from helping build someone’s house. God’s grace is his forgiveness of sins and his love and protection no matter what. His mercy and clemency are also signs of his grace. God’s unlimited grace rejuvenates, regenerates, and strengthens me when I am weak, tired or down. I have grown in faith of God’s grace not only by going to church and learning more about it but also by going to work camp and experiencing it in a very powerful and meaningful way. During work camp I had the opportunity and the privilege to help someone in a very powerful way. Seeing all of those people coming together just to help other people showed me a lot of God’s grace.

Why I wish to affirm my faith in baptism

I would like to be affirmed by the Christian faith because I was born a Christian, I was brought up as a Christian and with Christian customs and beliefs, and I believe in Jesus, God, and the Holy Ghost. I have studied the Bible throughout my life in Sunday school, Church services, Conformation classes, and on my own and I believe and worship the word of God. I believe that I am mature and of strong enough faith to be confirmed as a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. I have carried the word of God in thought and deed for all of my life and I think that now I have the opportunity to do even more as a member of the Lutheran Church. I also wish to affirm my faith because I love my God and I have complete faith in him. I would like to get closer to God and I feel that one way to do this is to be confirmed by the Church.

How am I and how do I intend to use my gifts, talents, and abilities for the ministry of the Church?

I intend to use my gifts of humor and friendship to help spread the word of God. I will work hard to help other people whether it is just saying a kind word to them when they are down to helping someone clean up a mess or helping build or fix up someone’s house. I will always be trying to make myself useful and helpful to others than myself and I hope I can become less selfish myself in this way. I have always been and will continue to talk about Christianity and what it all means with other people and in this way I have and will continue to spread the word of God. I would help and work at the annual Christmas in April and other projects to help people in and out of the church.
