Evangelizing the Gospel in Cyber Space

Cyber Edition of the Christ the Ling Lenten Devotions Coming Soon
by: Gil Miller

We live in an amazing time in history. Technology allows us to get on a jet at Dulles and be in China or India in sixteen hours. If you are not needed there in person, you can be there in seconds via phone call, text messaging, email, and video conferencing. These technologies present an interesting set of challenges and opportunities to the Christian Church.

At Christ the King, we see cyber technologies as a means to further evangelize the Gospel. Responding to Christ’s direction – “as the Father has sent me, so I send you” – we go forth into cyber space proclaiming the His glory. During the 2007 Lenten season, 1,010 unique individuals visited the Christ the King Lenten devotions site from 50 US cities and 24 international cities on 4 continents. Within the 57 subscribers who receive devotions via an email message were many Christ the King members, former members, and extended family members who no longer reside in the Great Falls area.

As Ash Wednesday rapidly approaches, we wanted to invite all, in the tradition of Lent, to give up 5 minutes of stress each day and give yourself 5 minutes of Christian peace, reflection, and community.

Here is how you can receive the cyber edition of the 2008 CTK Lenten Devotions:
